Privacy Policy

Last updated ยท July 2026

MustSee has no accounts. No sign-up, no email, no password โ€” so there's no profile of you to build, sell, or leak. Here's the complete picture of what's stored, and where.

What stays in your browser

Your watchlist, a randomly generated device ID, and a record of which films you've hyped live in your browser's local storage โ€” on your device, not our servers. We can't see your watchlist. Clear your browser data and all of it is gone. We set no cookies.

Hype votes

Tap the ๐Ÿ”ฅ and we record the vote on our servers: the film, the time, and your browser's random device ID โ€” that's how one device can't hype the same film twice in 24 hours. To keep counts honest, we may also store a salted, one-way hash of your IP address for the same cooldown check. Never the IP itself, and never anything that connects a vote to a name or email โ€” we don't have those.

Analytics

We use Vercel Web Analytics for aggregate numbers: page views, referrers, browser type, country-level location. It's cookieless and counts visits with an anonymized hash that resets daily, so it can't follow you across sites or even across days. Separately, like every website, our hosting (Vercel) and database (Supabase) keep short-lived standard server logs โ€” which include IP addresses โ€” for security and debugging. See Vercel's privacy policy.

Trailers play on YouTube

Trailers are embedded from YouTube in privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com), which holds off on tracking until you press play. Once you play a trailer, you're using YouTube: Google may set cookies or collect viewing data under Google's privacy policy. That part is theirs, not ours.

The small print

MustSee is a general-audience site; we don't knowingly collect information from children under 13. If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. Questions: hello@mustsee.movie.
